Information You Submit
Search entries
When you type a name, location, or similar detail into a site search tool, that query is sent to the independent provider that operates the tool. Knox County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
If you email us or send a contact message, we may retain the information needed to read it and respond. We do not disclose those messages outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Like most websites, the site and its service providers may automatically collect limited technical and usage information when a page loads, including:
- your IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and the time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, if one is available; and
- dates and times of access.
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies and comparable technologies help us understand how the site is used and maintain its operation. You can restrict or delete cookies through browser settings, but parts of the site or partner services may work differently after doing so.
How We Use Information
- to operate, secure, and improve the site;
- to pass a submitted search to the applicable partner service;
- to understand which resource pages visitors find useful;
- to diagnose errors and maintain performance; and
- to support advertising that may be tailored to interests.
External Websites and Services
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, government resources, and third-party search services. Once you follow an external link, that organization’s privacy practices apply to information it collects.
Advertising partners may use their own technologies to observe activity across websites and provide interest-based advertising. Those activities occur on their systems and are governed by their notices.
When Data May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be available to the following recipients when needed for the purposes described here:
- search partners that process search queries;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that serve or measure ads; and
- law enforcement or government authorities when presented with a valid legal order or other legal requirement.
Security Practices
We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information under our control. No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, so we cannot guarantee that a transmission or stored item will never be accessed, altered, or lost.
